Action Retailer of the Year Europe for the second time in a row
Brussels, 2 December 2015 - The winner of the election Retailer of the Year Europe 2015-2016 has been announced! Action has been declared Retailer of the Year Europe 2015-2016. Besides Retailer of the Year Europe, also the winners of Webshop Awards Europe and Cross Channel Award Europe have been announced. Hunkemöller can call itself winner of Webshop Awards Europe 2015-2016 and Hunkemöller is also the winner of Cross Channel Award Europe 2015-2016. More than 1 million consumers have voted 1,9 million times for European stores and webshops during the national elections.
Retailer Action has been elected overall winner again by the European public and may call itself Retailer of the Year Europe for the second time in a row. Action achieved in total the highest score across all nine countries where the election was carried out. Action achieved the highest grade in Belgium again this year, where the consumers gave the store an average of 8,09. Action makes the difference in comparison with other retailers in the fields of price level and actions & offers. Hunkemöller became second and Lidl third.
Hunkemöller has been named winner of Webshop Awards Europe. Hunkemöller scored especially high in Germany and Belgium and the consumers gave an average score of 7,90.
Combining the results of both elections results in the fact that Hunkemöller is the European winner of the Cross Channel Award.
How does the research work?
Consumers had the chance to judge their favourite stores and webshops during the spring and summer. These votes were given online on the basis of a questionnaire. The consumer could judge every store and webshop where he shopped last year. The judgement for Retailer of the Year consisted of nine most important sales aspects and for Webshop Awards of eight most important sales aspects. To become the overall winner of Europe a retailer must win a category prize in at least four countries and/or must be the overall winner. In webshops a retailer must win at least three category prizes and/or be the overall winner.
